The Supreme Court has dismissed appeals seeking the cancellation and re-conduct of the controversial NEET-UG 2024 examination, citing insufficient evidence to support claims of widespread breaches affecting the exam’s integrity.
The significant revision in scores is linked to the Supreme Court’s decision on a Physics question that previously had two acceptable answers. Initially, the NTA awarded marks to students who chose either option. Following the Supreme Court’s ruling and assessments by IIT-Delhi professors, only one specific option is now considered correct.
Based on the experts’ findings, there is no doubt that option 4 is the correct answer. The Supreme Court has endorsed the report from IIT Delhi, instructing the NTA to recalculate the NEET UG results based solely on option 4 being the correct answer.
Over 23.33 lakh students participated in the exam on May 5 across 4,750 centers in 571 cities, which also included 14 centers overseas.
