At the Mobile World Congress 2024, Oppo unveiled the Air Glass 3, its newest prototype of smart glasses. These glasses come equipped with cutting-edge features that incorporate artificial intelligence (AI), providing an enhanced visual experience.
The glasses are designed to work effortlessly with Oppo phones that have ColorOS 13 or newer versions, allowing smooth communication with the AI assistant.
Designed to work with Air Glass 3 Oppo smartphones that run on ColorOS 13 or newer versions, these glasses provide smooth integration with the AI assistant. However, as CNET suggests, this feature might be exclusive to Oppo devices.
The glasses are powered by Oppo’s AndesGPT, a powerful large language model, enabling the voice assistant to help users with tasks like making inquiries and performing searches. However, this feature is currently available only in China. Although the glasses depend on a smartphone app for computational tasks, Oppo’s innovative use of resin waveguide technology enhances color and clarity, reducing the “rainbow effect” often seen in similar devices.
Should the glasses meet Oppo’s expectations, they are anticipated to offer enhanced color and clarity, thereby improving the user’s visual experience. Furthermore, Oppo claims that these glasses can achieve peak brightness levels of more than 1,000 nits, rivaling the brightness of some smartphone screens and ensuring clear visibility under various lighting conditions.
At 50 grams, this device is comfortable to wear, similar to regular glasses, though it is a bit heavier. Oppo emphasizes the superior audio quality of the glasses, utilizing reverse sound field technology to minimize sound escape and including four microphones to ensure crisp voice capture during calls, a pioneering feature in smart glasses.
The glasses come equipped with touch sensors on the sides for easy navigation, allowing users to browse photos, make phone calls, and listen to music.
Oppo also aims to expand the glasses’ capabilities with future updates, introducing functionalities like health data display and language translation.
